Photography, in many ways, is like life.
Experiences are what life is composed of. If I wish to experience certain events, people, and places, I have to be there. Imagination can take me there, but not as vivid as being there experiencing and feeling it myself. Photography is like that.
Memories are the snapshots of life. Sometimes, memories are like short films. How I remember certain events, people, and places is purely in my mind when I re-create it. It is not without filters, without distortion, without seeing it through lens. Photography is like that.
Surprises are the sparkles of life. This is especially true for night photography. Sometimes the brilliant colors of the night, surprisingly showing up on the slide, become the priceless rewards to a long cold night's waiting.
Photography is my meditation. When I am out there photoshooting, I am by myself and being myself. Subjects become brighter and I connect with them. No words can describe the experience. The result is all my own. No judgment or opinion matters to me when I share the results. Photography brings me to the state of a still and peaceful mind where I appreciate all creations.
Photography is my true love. I can be with or without it anytime, and I am comfortable either way. My heart lets me know when, where, and how long I should be with my photography and therefore, I don't ignore the rest of my life.
I believe that art is in the eyes of the beholder. How I see it will be different from how others see it. My connection with and my feelings toward a certain piece are of no relevance or importance. Therefore, giving a piece a title is difficult for me. Sometimes it just jumps out and grabs me and sometimes I simply don’t have a name for it.
I hope you’ll connect with my photography.
