So there was this contest to illustrate the word "balloons" and this was pretty much the first place that I went... Originally I planned to do the parochial uniform but eventually chose a more gothic approach. The mylar Hello Kitty balloon stayed in, thus ensuring the kawaii vote, while the near upskirt wins the otaku crowd
Since the last few months were spent exclusively making horizon-line compositions for FOTB, it should come as no surprise that my first non-game related work used a worm's eye POV. Time constraints forbid me from building a background as I am usually wont to do. Although technically I could've simply rendered a sky, this time I chose to go with an abstract background (I refused to consider a flat color solution) which appears to get the job done quite handily. In fact, I was planning to give the figure an outline or a drop shadow but neither seemed necessary in the end
